The question you need to ask yourself first:
is your organization ready for KATA?
Since you already have a working Hoshin process, you know what your Mission and Vision is.
And you know what your goals for this year are. That doesn’t mean you know how to get there, if you knew you’d probably be there already.
KATA is a skill that you mainly learn by doing.
NAGOI can help you set up KATA improvement circles, by starting to train the participants in the Improvement KATA and Coaching KATA techniques. And by subsequently coaching them in the implementation of these techniques.
By applying KATA you will achieve three things:
- Long-term and / or "vague" goals are pursued in manageable, concrete chunks (Target Condition by Target Condition).
- Only obstacles that prevent you from reaching your Target Condition are addressed.
- With KATA you strive for a situation that is not there yet, while previously you only solved problems you encountered.
In a daily routine you PDCA your way trough obstacles, gaining a better understanding of the process while working closer and closer to the NTC.
The PDCA process that you use is called a ‘ coaching KATA routine’ and is supported by ‘ the 5 Questions’ and coach who leads the ‘ KATA routine’.
Al of this to ensure progress on a daily basis.
